Terms of services
Effective 14 September 2026. These terms govern use of the Scorton AI assurance workspace.
1. Acceptance
By accessing or using Scorton, you agree to these terms. If you use Scorton on behalf of an organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization.
2. The service
Scorton is an AI assurance workspace. You bring in documents or systems; Scorton extracts matter, reviews it on four questions (Subject, Standard, Evidence, Judgment), and records findings, a score, and a decision. Features such as Scort, Projects, Arena, Sessions, Harness, and the Leaderboard sit on that same chain.
3. Accounts and access
You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping credentials confidential. Do not share access in a way that lets someone else impersonate you or your organization.
4. Your content
You retain rights in documents, prompts, and other material you submit. You grant Scorton a limited license to process that material solely to provide the service — extraction, review, scoring, and the audit trail you request. You represent that you have the right to submit what you upload.
5. AI output and professional judgment
Reviews, TrustScores, findings, and recommendations are decision support, not legal, compliance, or security advice. You remain responsible for the judgment you record and for any action you take on it. Do not treat generated output as a substitute for qualified human review where the stakes require it.
6. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the service: no unauthorized access, no attempts to disrupt or reverse-engineer the platform, and no uploading of content you are not entitled to process. Do not use Scorton to evade law or to generate content that is unlawful.
7. Local and demo data
In local and demo deployments, records may live on the machine running the app. Resetting demo data permanently deletes that local store. Production deployments may use a hosted database; retention then follows that environment’s configuration.
8. Availability
We aim to keep Scorton available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted service. Features that depend on third-party models or gateways may be unavailable when those providers are down or unconfigured.
9. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Scorton and its operators are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our aggregate liability for claims relating to the service is limited to the fees you paid for the service in the three months before the claim, or one hundred dollars, whichever is greater.
10. Changes
We may update these terms. Continued use after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. Material changes will be reflected on this page with a new effective date.
